jonsghost Rather than follow up the Zelda synthstorm with more covers lovingly recreated in warped wallpaper-peeling analog keyboards, Will Patterson has decided to release an album of original music. While still heavily nostalgic and doubtlessly indebted to the 16-bit games of yore, this set has no direct precedent to set off the recognition-neurons, recreating those same feelings out of thin air. The result is a comforting wave of pensive and joyful melodies that show a mastery of mood and composition. Favorite track: Mt. Cloud.
